All of us at GXG have a love for those classic arcade games we grew up playing in our corner arcades, so it should come as no surprise that we've been closely following the controversy surrounding Billy Mitchell. Mitchell, the first man to ever get a perfect score on Pac-Man, was in the news more than usual recently due to accusations of rules violations in achieving his recorded Donkey Kong high score. His score was removed from Twin Galaxies, the de facto video game high score governing body, he was barred from ever submitting again, and his Guinness World Record was removed. A few weeks ago we met up with Mitchell at the Southern-Fried Gaming Expo for a quick interview where his answers to our questions were somewhat vague (that video is linked below). Our viewers demanded more detail and specificity, so we followed up with Mitchell. George arranged for the phone interview you're about to hear. An edited version appears on our YouTube channel (also linked below), but we also wanted to share this longer version for anyone interested in getting more of the backstory from Billy Mitchell's perspective.
