CLEVELAND, OH – Bill Mitchell, the acclaimed author of When Dating Hurts and host of the popular podcast of the same name, has been named the winner of the Purple Ribbon Award for Outstanding Domestic Violence Blog/Podcast. Presented by DomesticShelters.org, this honor recognizes Mitchell’s relentless dedication to education, awareness, and the prevention of dating violence.
The Purple Ribbon Awards, launched in 2021 in partnership with Theresa’s Fund and Alliance for HOPE International, is the most comprehensive awards program in the domestic violence movement. It honors the "heroes" of the field—advocates, survivors, and programs—who demonstrate exceptional creativity and impact.
Bill Mitchell’s journey as an advocate began following the tragic loss of his daughter, Kristin, to dating violence when she was murdered by her ex-boyfriend.
