Dear Christmas Preppers: Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Dear Christmas Preppers: Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Dear Christmas Preppers,

There is too much to do and way too many preparations to make before Christmas to get worked up over all the details. If we were to get upset over every broken ornament, every burnt batch of cookies, and every misplaced present, then we could easily end up ruining “the most wonderful time of the year” by allowing ourselves to get agitated by the little things.

Christmas will go on, even if you run out of wrapping paper or you forgot to buy mom a gift or you no longer fit in your favorite Christmas sweater...or, if you are anything like comedian Brian Regan, maybe you still struggle with putting the lights on the Christmas tree. Brian can definitely relate to you, as he poses the problem of fitting lights perfectly around a Christmas tree as “a geometry problem I’m not qualified to handle.” Listen to his hilarious take on avoiding gray hairs this Christmas and making the most of a situation that is not ideal!

So your lights didn’t make it up the entire tree? Don’t worry about it! Make up a story about how this was done intentionally, like Brian did. “This dark area represents the struggles in life.” Sure, makes sense. “These lights are where we are and that light is where we yearn to be.” Pretty deep stuff, if you ask us.

The moral of the story: Don’t sweat the small stuff this Christmas. Remember what the season is all about, and keep moving forward when things don’t go your way!

Sincerely,

The Evergreen Team
