FOR THE LOVE OF PETE! BUTTIGIEG (BOOT-A-JEDGE) JOINS A DEEP DEMOCRATIC POOL OF PROGRESSIVES PUSHING AHEAD TO 2020 PRESIDENTIAL SHOWDOWN
“WaPo” reports South Bend, Indiana “Boy” Mayer, Pete Buttigieg, announced he will join the patriots vying for the Democratic opposition to Donald “The Art of the Deal” Trump in the year 2020. Buttigieg (boot-a-jedge), a former Rhodes scholar and Afghanistan veteran, joins big names like Michael “Big Bucks” Bloomberg, the Elizabeth “Warrior” Warren, “Big Joe” Biden, and Indie Socialist Sanders, among a cavalcade of no names who intend to throw their hat in the ring. And Buttigieg has his boots dusting up some historic ground — becoming the first gay nominee of a major political party. “We can’t just polish off a system so broken. It is a season for boldness and a focus on the future,” he says. Hear! Hear!

AT ALIBABA'S FUTURISTIC HOTEL, ROBOTS RING IN AN ERA OF TECH CONCIERGE
That’s right folks… Reuters China bureau reports the Alibaba Group Holding company’s “FlyZoo” hotel is outfitted with a space-age fleet of robotic hospitality pros. Jumping Jetsons, this 290-room tech lab quote, “eliminates the need for guests to interact with other people.” End quote. (huge sign) Guests can command the pampering, operating the thermostat, lighting, curtains, and room service with Alibaba’s voice recognition technology. Hold the crisp white linens (ROBOT VOICE: But check out’s not until tomorrow, Mr. Bigsby.) No… no... Rodge ain’t grinnin’... I mean, who wants some tin can delivering a bottle of bubbly? OREO UNLEASHES TITANIC NEW COOKIES WITH 4 TIMES THE CREME FILLING
Nabisco’s Most Stuf Oreos are set to hit shelves. This edition will feature the most creme filling Oreo has ever crammed between the two iconic cocoa wafers. Before Most Stuf Oreos came around, Mega Stuf Oreos were the most filled Oreo. Per a report from CNN, its predecessor had about 2.68 times the amount of filling of a normal Oreo. Most Stuf Oreos, however, take the snack to even greater heights. Sadly, Most Stuf Oreos won’t stick around forever. For a limited time only, grab a big glass of milk and get to dunkin’ ‘em while you can. Caldonia! Caldonia! What makes this big cookie so good!?

OSCARS! OSCARS! THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2019’s OSCAR NOMINATIONS IS THE TALK OF THE TOWN
This week, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled the top of the top, the best of the best, the cream of the crop of the silver screen! The Favourite and Roma lead all films with 10 nods a plenty. Fan favorite’s A Star Is Born and Vice also dominant this fine class of nominees, earning eight each, followed by BlacKkKlansman with six, and Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book with five a piece. And making Hollywood history, blockbuster hit Black Panther earned seven nods – as the first ever Superhero movie to earn a nomination for Best Picture. (Hookup those rabbit ears and tune in to ABC for the 91st Annual Academy Awards Feb. 2th.) It’s Hot, Hot, Hot… in Hollywood!
5) PUT THE NEEDLE ON THE RECORD… WITH BIGSBY’S BEAT OF THE WEEK:
My oh my… do I love me some Buttermilk Sky. It’s a toe-tapping number, a sweet ditty from Mike Douglas and The Campus Kids. And it sure brings a bushel of sweet sunshine on a cloudy January day. Take yourself a listen!
(Next Week: “Eager Beaver” (which Moss once played in Purdue AAMB show) – or – “‘T Ain’t What You Do” a jumpin’ little number)
6) THIS WEEK’S WALKER ON HISTORY… IT’S ALL IN THE WRIST!
On this day in good ole ‘57, machines at the Wham-O toy company rolled out the first batch of aerodynamic plastic discs – now known to millions of fans the world over as... Frisbees.
It all began with William Frisbie, who opened the Frisbie Pie Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1871. The toy company Wham-O released the first mass-produced model known as the “Pluto Platter”– in an attempt to cash in on the craze over Unidentified Flying Objects (You know… U.F.O.’s). Sadly, the PP turned out to be a bit of a poo poo platter. So.... they renamed it Frisbie, after the inventor himself. Today, with over 100 million units sold, the rest, as they say, is history.
